Review process

Content removal requests

Public records can have lasting effects. We review removal, redaction and de-indexing requests against accuracy, safety, public interest and the current legal record.

Effective July 15, 2026 · Crime Current trust policy

What to include

Provide the exact URL, identify the material at issue, explain the requested outcome and include reliable documentation. Never send government identification or other sensitive records until the trust desk provides a secure channel.

How we decide

Relevant factors include dismissal or expungement, identity errors, risk to minors or victims, changed wanted status, the age of the report, ongoing public interest and whether a less restrictive correction or update would resolve the issue.

Possible outcomes

The newsroom may correct, update, redact, remove from search indexing, unpublish or decline a request. The requester receives a reasoned decision when contact information is available.

Start a request

Begin through the contact desk with the URL and requested outcome. The trust desk will provide a secure follow-up route if supporting records are needed; do not send government identification or private records through an unapproved channel.
