Tyree Irving pleaded guilty to second-degree murder while armed on February 2, 2026. The court imposed an 18-year prison sentence on July 24, 2026.

A D.C. man has been sentenced to 18 years in prison for the 2019 shooting death of Davane Williams near North Capitol Street.

The U.S. Attorney’s Office for the District of Columbia said Tyree Irving fired five shots at Williams near Tyler House in the 1200 block of North Capitol Street NW on January 15, 2019. Williams was struck five times and died from his injuries.

Irving was arrested February 27, 2019, and has remained in custody. He pleaded guilty February 2, 2026, to second-degree murder while armed. The court imposed the 18-year prison term July 24 and ordered five years of supervised release.
