D.C. homicide detectives are investigating the fatal shooting of a 24-year-old man outside on Valley Avenue in Southeast Washington.

Seventh District officers responded to the 1200 block of Valley Avenue SE at about 9:48 p.m. Saturday after reports of gunshots, according to the Metropolitan Police Department. Officers found a man with a gunshot wound. D.C. Fire and EMS responded, found no signs consistent with life and pronounced him dead at the scene.

MPD identified the victim as Dayquan Miller of Southeast Washington. The department did not announce an arrest or release a suspect description in its July 27 notice. The investigation remains active.
