A D.C. Superior Court jury found Marcus Reavenell guilty on July 27, 2026. Sentencing is scheduled for October 2, 2026; the sentence has not yet been imposed.

A D.C. Superior Court jury has convicted a 48-year-old Washington man in a road-rage shooting that damaged another driver’s work vehicle.

The U.S. Attorney’s Office for the District of Columbia said Marcus Reavenell cut off and tailgated the victim near Eastern and Division avenues NE on May 14, 2025. Prosecutors said Reavenell pointed a pistol from his van and fired one round into the rear door of the victim’s vehicle before driving away.

Jurors found Reavenell guilty of assault with a dangerous weapon, possession of a firearm during a crime of violence, unlawful discharge of a firearm, unlawful possession of a firearm, reckless driving and destruction of property. He was arrested July 9, 2025, and remains in custody. Sentencing is scheduled for October 2, 2026.
