San Diego homicide detectives are investigating the death of a man found with an apparent stab wound on Park Boulevard downtown.

Officers responded to an assault-with-a-deadly-weapon report at about 10:17 p.m. July 15 and found the unidentified man lying on a sidewalk in the 300 block. Officers and San Diego Fire-Rescue personnel attempted life-saving measures, but he died.

Police said the suspect fled before officers arrived. No arrest was announced in the July 16 release, and investigators described the case as an isolated event with no known ongoing threat to the public.
