D.C. homicide detectives are investigating the fatal shooting of a 37-year-old man on 16th Street in Southeast Washington.
Sixth District officers responding to a reported shooting shortly after 11:20 a.m. on July 10 found an adult man unconscious and not breathing with gunshot wounds. DC Fire and EMS found no signs consistent with life and pronounced him dead at the scene, MPD said.
Police identified the victim as Delonta Phillips of Southeast D.C. The July 15 release did not announce an arrest or identify a suspect, and the investigation remains open.
