D.C. police are investigating a Northwest Washington shooting that killed one man and wounded another Wednesday afternoon.

The Metropolitan Police Department said Third District officers responded to the 1300 block of 5th Street NW at approximately 2:14 p.m. July 29. Officers found two adult men with apparent gunshot wounds. DC Fire and EMS transported both men to a hospital.

One victim had non-life-threatening injuries. The other was critically wounded and later died despite lifesaving efforts, police said. MPD identified him as 29-year-old Keyon Malik Maynor of Northwest Washington. No suspect or arrest was announced in the department’s July 30 release.
