D.C. homicide detectives are investigating a late-night shooting that killed an 18-year-old man on New York Avenue in Northwest Washington.
The Metropolitan Police Department said Third District officers responded to the unit block of New York Avenue NW at approximately 10:38 p.m. Tuesday after a report of gunshots. Officers found an adult man suffering from gunshot wounds.
D.C. Fire and EMS responded, found no signs consistent with life and pronounced the man dead at the scene. MPD identified him as Darron Venable of Southeast Washington. No arrest or suspect description was announced in the department's July 30 release.
