Candice Johnston has been charged by federal indictment. The charges and the conduct described by prosecutors are allegations, and she is presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty in court.

A Bronx woman whom federal prosecutors describe as a longtime leader of a Bloods gang set has been arrested and charged in a 2017 robbery-murder.

The U.S. Attorney’s Office for the Southern District of New York says a four-count indictment charges Candice Johnston, also known as “Queen,” with racketeering conspiracy, murder in aid of racketeering, murder through use of a firearm and conspiracy to receive firearms from out of state. Prosecutors allege Johnston led the Red Life Militia and directed a subordinate to rob and kill former gang supplier Noel Farrow on May 31, 2017.

Johnston was arrested July 27 and presented before a federal magistrate judge in Manhattan. Prosecutors emphasized that the indictment contains accusations only. Johnston is presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty.
