Two juveniles were arrested and charged with attempted robbery. A charge is an allegation, and each accused person is presumed innocent unless proven guilty in court.

Two teenagers have been arrested after an attempted robbery at 13th and U streets in Northwest Washington, according to the Metropolitan Police Department.

MPD says two suspects approached a man at about 8 p.m. July 23 and demanded his wallet. One carried a broom handle. The intended victim ran, and police said no property was taken.

Third District officers canvassed the area and located both suspects. A 16-year-old from Northwest D.C. and a 14-year-old from Northeast D.C. were charged with attempted robbery. Because the accused are juveniles, Crime Current is not publishing their names.
